Birds Club International
Birds Club International (BCI) is a project initiated by the well-known film director Sri. Jayaraj under the umbrella of Jayaraj Foundation, formed in 2010. BCI is a non-commercial organization promoting interest in bird watching, conservation of nature and natural resources through public campaigning and education. This green initiative targets the development of rain groves (miniature forests), connecting students through bird watching and thereby reviving the nature and ecosystem. it is registered as a charitable company with the aim of environmental revival, conservation, and promoting sustainable use of natural resources- with the focus on Birds to convey our message. By focusing on birds, and the sites and habitats on which they depend, the Birds Club International aims to improve the quality of life for birds, other wildlife (biodiversity), and for the people.
Birds Club (BCI) was inaugurated in Sree Sankara campus blessed with the rich greenery of diverse flora. It was formally inaugurated by Sri Jayaraj, the Founder of BCI on 9/11/2020.
Objectives
- To provide secluded area for the birds
- To create rain groves in the campus & attract more birds
- To organize seminars, discussions workshops etc. on environmentally associated topics
- To conduct various competitions like nature photography, short film making etc. to inculcate love for nature in the youth
- To provide a forum for all across countries, to share their interest in birds and preserve the nature at its best, aiming at gradual and sustainable developments in the process
- To persuade people to revive, protect and preserve our environments
Activities
- Revive the nature by joining hands with the various strata of the society in spreading the importance of conservation
- Bring about a change in the way people look at and treat their environment
- Avail prompt sustainable use of natural resources
