The Research and Postgraduate Department of English is conducting a Conference on 31st August 2021, to commemorate the Centennial birthday of esteemed cultural critic and litterateur Raymond Williams. He is widely known as a Marxist Literary Theoretician, one of the founding figures of Cultural Studies and a regional novelist. The conference-deliberation is three fold:- Williams and Cultural Studies, Williams and Literary Criticism/Theory and Williams' Fiction. Four eminent scholars, Mr Josy Joseph, Dr Appu Jacob John, Sri Cheri Jacob K and Dr Jeevan Kumar from colleges across Kerala will share their insights on Williams. Aim of the conference is to contextualize Williams' body of work to the present generation.
